WebMD’s Health Hero Awards celebrate the people and organizations making a meaningful difference in health and wellness. For the awards event, WebMD needed an opening title sequence that could set an energetic, optimistic tone while giving the celebration a distinctive visual identity.
Coat of Arms developed a flexible design system built around bold typography, found imagery, color, texture, and motion. The system allowed us to create a sequence that felt celebratory and human while staying connected to WebMD’s brand. The result is an opening designed to do more than introduce an event, it tells the story of human innovation and personal triumph across each hero.

The Awards bring together very different people, stories, and achievements. We wanted the visual language to feel equally diverse without becoming overly corporate, and energetic without losing the sense of importance behind the stories being honored. We explored several visual directions, testing different combinations of color, typography, imagery, and texture to find the right balance. The final direction brought warmth and energy to the WebMD brand while giving the awards a visual personality of their own.
