Spanner

Google

Google Cloud Spanner is built to handle something deceptively difficult: keeping data globally consistent while scaling across an enormous infrastructure.

Google came to Coat of Arms with the challenge of explaining those technical capabilities in a way that was easy to understand and engaging to watch. The brief came with concepts like “horizontal scaling” and “SQL compatibility,” terms that may make sense to a developer, but don't necessarily translate into compelling visuals.

Our answer was to turn the underlying technology into geometric forms, using scale, movement, and transformation to make concepts like horizontal scaling tangible. The result is a film that turns a complex piece of infrastructure into something you can understand and remember.

We love taking complex stories, ideas, and technologies and finding the language, and the heart, that makes them click.
