Global Displays: Inflatable Art

Salesforce

Lobbies are thresholds for the first breath before a meeting, a new job, or an unfamiliar day. For salesforce's global offices, from New York to Dublin to Sydney, we wanted to create something light to meet people in that moment. Something playful, tactile, and alive. Something to say, welcome. We're glad you're here.

Working with Salesforce, we designed a global animation system of drifting inflatables and character forms that slowly fill the space in celebration.

Creative Brief

Creative

Brief

Harnessing the metaphor of inflatables, we sought to express energy and optimism in the scene. First, we explored conceptually by writing and curating references.  In this research and creative development phase, we thought about how to make the balloons organically drift, stack, compress, and accumulate, progressively filling the space with a dynamic sense of motion.

Global Displays: Bubbles

Salesforce

One of our farthest reaching projects to date includes some meditative bubbles for Salesforce's lobby screens across the world, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dublin, Hyderabad, New York, San Francisco, Sydney, Tokyo.

Delivering varying screen sizes and aspect ratios for sixteen lobby screens required over 35 days of rendering. Our team took this one head on.

Development

Experimenting with colors, environment, and bubble material, these styleframes explore varying approaches to a room full of bubbles. This was a favorite part of the project for us, playing with a variety of brand elements and bubble textures to see what works best.

We found that including architectural elements in the foreground helped viewers fully experience the depth of our environments, especially in the Salesforce East Tower, where we were able to push perspective. See the large image below.

Global Displays: Holiday

Salesforce

Working with Salesforce on another project for their large displays across global offices was a blast. This one came right in time for the holidays. There's talk of creating some of these 3D characters into bobble-heads or wooden keepsakes. Fingers crossed we get to share these with you in the future.

Process

With each client collaboration, the creative process gets more efficient. Jumping on another Salesforce project with our real estate friends was fun. Here is a peek at some of our work during the project.

Or tell us how we could have done it more efficiently! We hope our project files may help you in your pursuit of design, animation, and art; but we ask that you respect the artist in these files. In the brush strokes, in the layers of texture, and in each keyframe, sits a person who labored and agonized over their art. So, please use these for educational purposes and steal only the wisdom behind them not the content or ingredients.
