Early in the development process, we landed on a visual style that integrates historical archival materials (photographs, documents, and footage) with a variety of maps representing the communities where the film takes place. These visuals were then animated using hand-drawn digital brushstroke effects, structured cartography, and expressive, collage-style effects.
