Salesforce approached us with a simple yet ambitious request: Bring their brand to life in lobbies around the world through a Rube Goldberg-inspired machine.
Working with Salesforce’s Real Estate Creative team, our task was to design a piece that would make a lasting first impression, something both delightful and meaningful for visitors entering their offices.

Hero Location
Salesforce Tower
Salesforce Tower, located in San Francisco, acted as our hero location. We sketched, designed and animated here first to finalize all the physics and possible global adjustments needed to remain efficient and, like a good Rube Goldberg project, learn from our experiments at each stage.
Once Tower was approved we moved to other locations, applying what we learned to each new deliverable.

Behind the Shield

With open hearts and a lens focused on education, we share these project files and details with you, our community, so that you may glean from them something inspirational.
Or tell us how we could have done it more efficiently! We hope our project files may help you in your pursuit of design, animation, and art; but we ask that you respect the artist in these files. In the brush strokes, in the layers of texture, and in each keyframe, sits a person who labored and agonized over their art. So, please use these for educational purposes and steal only the wisdom behind them not the content or ingredients.
Please. Thank you. And godspeed.

Rube Goldberg
Salesforce
Director's Cut
A playful chain reaction of imagination and connection.
We loved collaborating with our friends at Salesforce to create this Rube Goldberg–inspired animation, now playing in Salesforce buildings around the world. We'd like to extend heartfelt thanks to our incredibly talented team for bringing it to life. This project was a joyful challenge in physics, design, and storytelling across so many unique screen sizes and locations.

Non-Branded
Salesforce Sydney
For two of the eleven locations the lobby screens have to showcase content that doesn't explicitly speak to Salesforce or it's brands. In order to accomplish that we adjusted icons, characters, and aspects of the environment.

Astro & Codey
Salesforce West
The San Francisco West location is one of the longest horizontal setups of all Lobby screens. It has three elevator cutouts and required we build an entirely new Rube Goldberg machine in the far left screen. It's fun to see everything moving and reacting across such a wide space.
